Rick Bass is the author of more than a dozen books of fiction and nonfiction, including The Sky, the Stars, the Wilderness; The Book of Yaak; The Lost Grizzlies; and Fiber. The stories in Bass’s first short story collection, The Watch, won the 1988 PEN/Nelson Algren Award, and his novel Where the Sea Used To Be won the James Jones Fellowship Award.
